I have some Amethyst photos here I took of a blooming full grown Amethyst for some of you African violet enthusiasts . I started it from leaves I got a little over a year ago. It is one of the original 10. It looks very vintage . First hybridized by Armacost and Royston greenhouses in California in the late 1920s . It looks extremely vintage .It is a very robust and vigorous looking plant . Very flexible.. The leaves dont break off without considerable effort. And also they are red backed. Something you would expect in an African violet hybridized from that period. It looks like an African violet that you would find in an old farmhouse window back in the 1930s To me at least.
